The Radical Therapist #068 – Dancing with Death w/ Dr. Lorraine Hedtke

In episode #068 Chris meets with Dr. Lorraine Hedtke and they discuss how grief is frequently thought of as an ordeal we must simply survive. In this episode Dr. Hedtke offers a fresh approach to the negotiation of death and grief, founded in principles of constructive conversation and narrative practices that focuses on "remembering" lives, in contrast to processes of forgetting or dismembering those who have died.

I desperately would like for Dr. Hedtke to stop ending 90% of her sentences with ”right?” It gets really annoying. I was cringing. Yes, we follow your train of thought. No you have not said anything insanely unusual or confounding...you do not need to check in every 5 seconds asking ”right?” to make sure we’re all in agreement. Aside from that...there’s some real interesting stuff in here.
